United Nations Development Action Framework 2013-17

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”black” css=”.vc_custom_1474005655028{margin-top: -15px ;}”][vc_column_text]The United Nations Development Action Framework 2013-17 guides the collective work of the United Nations in India. Under the UNDAF, the UN Agencies that have the privilege to serve in India work in support of national development priorities of the 12th Five Year Plan and internationally agreed goals including the Millennium Development Goals. The UNDAF has been prepared in partnership with the Planning Commission and Line Ministries of the Government of India, Civil Society Organisations and the United Nations in India.

 

In support of the Government of India’s 12th Five Year Plan, the UNDAF has six broad outcomes:

  • Inclusive Growth,
  • Food and Nutrition Security,
  • Gender Equality,
  • Equitable Access to Quality Basic Services,
  • Governance, and
  • Sustainable Development.

Under the current UNDAF, collective engagement by the UN will focus on nine priority states: Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In close collaboration with the state governments and civil society organisations, work in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast areas will also be undertaken.


India UNDAF 2008-12
The United Nations Development Assistance Framework 2008-12, aligned to the Government of India’s 11th Five Year Plan aimed at ‘Promoting social, economic and political inclusion for the most disadvantaged, especially women and girls.’ Under the UNDAF, the collective interventions of the United Nations were focused in seven priority states: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
