International Youth Day 2014

Time for investing in young people in India is here

Commemorating World Population Day 2014, the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner (ORGI) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) organized a conference ‘Investing in Young People of India’. The event echoed UN’s global theme: ‘Investments in young people not only make sense for today, it makes sense for the future’. With individuals in the age group of 15 to 24 years comprising around 19% of India’s population, the Chief Guest for the occasion, Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Government of India Shri Rajnath Singh reinforced that the theme for World Population Day is both appropriate and relevant in the context of building India as the world leader in true sense of the term.


India’s historic window of opportunity to invest in youth
